The dorms at Penn vary significantly in size and structure -- there are singles, doubles, triples, and suites. Some on campus housing like the High Rises emulates spacious apartment-style living while other buildings like the Quad are smaller and more antiquated. As of 2021 Penn will require all freshman and sophomores to live on campus, which is equal to around 5,000 students. I can't speak to the experience of living on campus myself, though I really enjoyed living off campus while attending Penn. I'd say that living both on and off campus offer different experiences, the latter generally more favorable as an upperclassmen.
