My process

Each of my essay students is provided with a Google Doc copy of my admissions workbook that includes a personalized timeline, essay lessons, resources and organizers, FAQs, and more information about applying successfully to highly selective schools. The workbook provides the framework for our meetings, with assigned work to be completed in between so they stay organized, on track, and we're never wasting time "on the clock." It's updated twice yearly and reviewed and revised by current admissions officers at Yale, Princeton, UNC- Chapel Hill, and UC Berkeley.

Package students also receive a pdf of my favorite 200+ successful personal statements and supplementary essays completed by students who've given me permission to share, often alongside early drafts and my own written commentary.

Already have a draft completed? Send it in for review! Grammar and other sentence-level revisions made inline, with tips, tricks, suggestions, thoughts, stories, and suggestions for further reflection left in comments! In addition I'll provide a write-up with my overall impression, rationale, and suggestions for next steps. Leave any questions in the "notes" box and I'll answer those, as well! It's also useful if you let me know what you think you're doing well, where you feel like you've struggled to be clear or effective, and any extra details that will help me evaluate the essay with your specific needs in mind.
