Meet the panelists: Jordan, Marcus, Justin, Jenna

Jordan is a sophomore from Greenwich, Connecticut in the Morrissey School of Arts and Sciences. She is pursuing a Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Applied Psychology. Jordan is a member of the Women's Track and Field team at Boston College. Outside of school, she enjoys exploring Boston and spending time with her friends.

Marcus is a junior from Windsor, Connecticut in the Lynch School of Education. He is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Applied Psychology with a double minor in Communications and Restorative & Transformational Justice. Marcus is a member of the D1 track & field team at school, a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), and a photographer for one of his school’s newspaper named The Heights. Outside of school he loves listening to r&b music, binging the latest tv shows, hanging out with friends, and working with children.

Justin is a sophomore from Redwood City, California in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. He is pursuing a Bachelor's in Biology on a premed track. Justin is the media chair for the Chinese Student Association at Boston College, trip leader for Outdoor Adventures, part of the operations team for EagleShadow, and an active member of BC Medlife & Mendel Society. Outside of school, he enjoys rock climbing, traveling, spending time with friends, and listening to music

Jenna is a sophomore from Long Island, NY in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and Philosophy, as well as on the pre-med track. Along with a rigor of academia, Jenna is an active member of Habitats for Humanity, Women in STEM and the Italian Club on campus, Il Circolo Italiano. Including her involvement in multiple clubs, she has three jobs at the BC Rec center as a lifeguard and water safety instructor. Outside of her busy life, she loves to explore the city of Boston and surf.

Work Experience: Now in my fourth year at CollegeVine, I have helped dozens of students gain acceptance to their top-choice schools and have also advised and mentored thousands more through my livestreams. Apart from my work at CV, I am also a professional conductor and a multi-instrumentalist. I currently serve as the music director of the Apollo Ensemble of Boston, and I have led symphonic concerts and operatic productions throughout the United States.

My Admissions Story: Initially interested in pursuing a career as a performing cellist, I applied almost exclusively to music schools with dual and double degree options and ultimately enrolled in the Tufts University/New England Conservatory Dual Degree Program. Unhappy with the combined program and worried I'd never feel like I was fully a student at either school, I logged back into CommonApp.org in October of my freshman year. I can't say I went about the transfer process in the smartest way (I only applied to two schools!), but Harvard miraculously accepted me (or 'excepted me' as I wrote in a celebratory Facebook post that day - no one ever let me live that one down), and the rest was history.
