Undergrad College: Williams College '20

Work Experience: I first joined CollegeVine in the fall of 2016. Since then, I've worked as an essay and admissions consultant, SAT tutor, and hiring manager within the company. More recently, I've also advised hundreds of students in my livestreams, specializing in liberal arts colleges and standardized testing content.

My Admissions Story: I did almost everything wrong in my undergraduate applications, and I was never supposed to attend Williams. The fact that I did is the best thing that ever happened to me! I've learned a lot of tips over the years on what to do in your college applications, and I have ample first-hand experience of what not to do as well. But the biggest lesson of all? Don't let yourself stress too much about the admissions process. Things (somehow) found a way to work out for me in the end. They will for you, too!

Audience questions

These are questions from the audience that we had time to answer during the live session. If you have any other questions, you can request an answer from Giebien and other CollegeVine experts in an upcoming livestream or on the Q&A Forum anytime.
0:00@anonymous:TY. Is there anything special we need to do to join or will you just pop on?
65:59@anonymous:Does talking about your accomplishments in computer science like app development help for Browns PLME?
66:06@anonymous:Will the people reading PLME have access to your Brown whole brown app? (including the first 3 questions about open curriculum, perspectives, etc.)
66:14@anonymous:Due to covid many volunteer opportunities have been canceled so due to this would I be a weak candidate?
77:55@mimi:Could you show the slide that lists Brown's and PLME's essay topics?
81:38@anonymous:Where can we find research experience virtually? How important it is for PLME
81:45@junemann:Does geographic diversity have any influence when it comes to Brown's admission decisions?
81:53@anonymous:You said not to repeat topics. Is it ok to mention a research experience in one or two sentences in other essays and have one essay focus on it?
85:15@anonymous:Is there an interview for plme?
86:09@Jrai08:Kinda an off topic question, not towards Brown, but what was your motivation to being a quadruple major? That's so impressive!
91:27@anonymous:Does any sport activity is considered during plme admission decision or just medicine related EC
92:24@mimi:For Brown's prompt 3, can the place be an environment, not necessarily a physical place?
93:42@AmeliaK:For the home essay can it be a past home or does it need to be present?
95:52@mimi:What % in answer to Prompt 3 should be my insight?
97:10@Jrai08:Could a trait that you bring to Brown be like "mentorship". Not the word I was looking for but let's say you value peer tutoring cause you're helping others and also learning alongside them as well.
97:12@Jrai08:If you could just talk a little bit more about the traits and how general or specific it could be that'd be so helpful!
