Our unique curriculum represents one of the most comprehensive ACT programs in the nation.
Our tutors represent the brightest students in the world. All of our meticulously selected tutors are required to have at least a 35 on the section of the exam they are teaching. The resulting quality of instruction is unmatched.
Class-based instruction isn't for everyone. We pair you with two personal tutors, one for Verbal (English and Writing) and one for STEM (Math and Science). All of our tutors attend top 15 universities and are chosen based on their critical thinking skills and instructional ability.
All of our tutoring programs are conducted online via video chat. No matter where you are in the world, you’ll receive premium instruction from our top tutors, right in your home.
Targeted strategies across all sections.
After countless hours of tutoring with students across all score ranges, we’re confident that we know the best way to maximize the score and minimize the time input on the reading test. In fact, most of our students finish the reading section with over 10 minutes to spare. Our method of attacking the test allows you to focus purely on the content in front of you, without worrying about the rest of the exam.
What pushes our students' scores above 34 isn’t just how we take the test; after we’ve taught students our strategy for approaching reading, we actually teach them how to read critically—a skill often neglected in schools today. Using our proprietary method developed by Harvard humanities majors, we’ve developed a way to easily teach students how to comprehend virtually any passage that’s thrown at them.
Students regularly miss questions about rhetorical devices, tone, mood, and theme on the ACT. Our curriculum places strong emphasis on the exact concepts that are tested on the reading section and provides strategies to properly answer such notoriously challenging questions. We reduce the biggest mistakes on the ACT to a simple handout — we promise it will help you improve your grades in your English classes as well.
Our grammar rules are exhaustive: 95 pages of exhaustive to be exact. We’ve developed a series of just 16 simple rules that completely represent all questions on the test. If you can find an ACT question that is not 100% explained by our grammar rules, we’ll refund your course in full. Guaranteed.
Beyond just teaching you rules, we’ll explain how to answer English questions in a methodical way that minimizes your chances of getting the wrong answer. And we’ll show you how to definitively choose the “no change” option so you can close your test booklet with ease.
At CollegeVine, we take writing seriously. We’ve reduced the ACT essay to a straightforward formula that only requires you to plug in the information we tell you to guarantee a 34 on the essay. You’ll go into test day with most of your essay already written, with just a few modifications needed to secure a top score.
With the new changes to the ACT Essay section, students are becoming increasingly stressed about how to effectively craft a response. Our students report that our essay program fundamentally changes the way they think about writing and allows them to focus exclusively on the other sections of the test.
The last two points of the essay score are almost exclusively reserved for the underlying quality of the writing, including a student’s diction, syntax, and literary devices. After you’ve secured a base of 34 with our method, we’ll work with you to incorporate more literary elements to grab those extra two points.
There’s no point in learning things you already know. Our math program always begins with a complete diagnostic test powered by conceptual analytics to understand what exactly it is that you’re missing. We then walk you through all of the math concepts you need to know to ace the exam.
It may come as a surprise that the ACT isn’t actually very “smart.” The entire exam only tests a set number of math concepts; however, it disguises them in confusing ways for students. We’ll teach you how to approach different types of ACT questions in a methodical way so that you can focus on the core math that is being tested.
You want to laugh at question 40. Our program will walk you through some of the most difficult ACT questions that are asked so that you’ll be prepared when you see them on your test. We’ll also provide you with helpful hints for when you’re stuck on a problem with limited time remaining.
Many students are overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information on the ACT science section. While each experiment appears to be unique, there are only a few discreet question types that often have extremely predictable answers. We’ll show you how to sift through the information overload and get the question right.
To get a top score on the science section, you need to have strong command of tables, graphs, and diagrams to draw effective conclusions about data. Often, such conclusions are easily subject to the biases of the student – we’ll teach you how to objectively make conclusions that meet the ACT’s standards.
The most important skill you need on the science section is the ability to provide effective analysis of data, graphs, information, and scientific theory. Our program will teach you the basics of analysis and how to effectively answer questions that require deeper insight into the material presented.
Regardless of which course you ultimately choose, at the end you will be sent an independent study plan to continue training on your own leading up to the ACT. The plan contains a series of tests to take, a schedule of when to take them, as well as a personal score calculator to easily grade exams.
Don’t practice with the wrong materials. Our program only uses full-length ACT exams and we continue this with our independent study plan. After your course, you’ll receive 10 additional full length exams to continue your training and practice the strategies you learned in your time with CollegeVine.
It can be tough grading and scoring all of those exams you’re taking. As part of your independent study plan, we’ll provide you with an easy to use score calculator to quickly grade your exams. You can spend your time improving your scores, not messing around with the arithmetic to calculate them.
