Good News Thread

This is just a thing where you can post any (try to keep it college-related) good news you have! Whether you just visited a school or got an internship, this is the place to put your accomplishments. Try not to brag, too.

This is an awesome thread! It's good to hear good news especially after such a rough year and a half. Mine would have to be that, during my freshman year of high school, I was able to keep up my grades and score three extracurricular activities I will be able to continue and put on my college application :)

Thank you! I did this yearlong internship for a consulting company which focused on changing our district's school curriculum, became a member of my school's Feminist Club (in which I will hopefully become the president by my junior year), and am starting a club next year with a group of friends I made over online learning! I'm very excited. :)

Love the idea for the thread, hope I can contribute! Someone very close to me finished their Masters recently which was exciting and I'm super happy for them. A cousin of mine also graduated high school and I was able to celebrate with them and talk about where they'll be going to college which was really nice.

Also I just want to give a big congrats to everyone who graduated this year and for those who haven't yet, congrats on making it through a rough time! This last year has been tough on everyone and so many of you work so hard so just in case you haven't heard it from someone in your life recently just know everyone at CollegeVine are proud of you all, keep up the good work you've been doing, and we're looking forward to seeing what you accomplish!

What was the masters in? (just curious, if the person wouldn't like to share that's totally fine)

This is such a refresher, especially in the current situation. I turned my internship into a part-time job and finished my long due research paper I'm very happy since it's actually something I'm passionate about and I'm just proud of how I've been able to achieve the goals I set for myself way back in freshman year and how I finally got over my imposter syndrome. I hope all of you are coping well with the outbreak and are proud of yourselves!

I recently got a job at a local newspaper, and I am the only teen writer in the newspaper. It is a paid position with substantial responsibility.

That sounds amazing! If you don't mind sharing, what kind of non-profit do you run?

I am building a non-profit that provides free STEAM tutoring and mentoring for underprivileged children across the globe. It will also have a research program, magazine, and national advocacy board! I'm so excited. I'm in the process of making it official (a licensed 501(c)(3) )
