You "improve your chances" by continuing to be true to yourself and doing things you like to do. Look for applying sideways to MIT online.

T20s have single digit acceptance rates for even the most qualified participants. A rejection from T20s does not mean you are a failure.

If you can't make it with this resume I don't know what will get you in. But if you really want to improve your chances get a really high ACT or SAT score. Hope that helps!
