Can I add pictures to my Harvard supplement?

Hey! In my Harvard supplement, I mention childhood journal entries and I was thinking of including pictures of them. Does anyone know if that is allowed?

I don't think there are necessarily any "rules" around this. If it's highly-relevant, I think would be okay, as is in your situation. Just keep in mind that the formatting could get messed up, so you may want to include a note describing what the images are of. I know you can upload a PDF for many supplements, but I still worry about formatting issues. Hope this helps!

There's not really a place for you to do this. The only way you could add pictures or something similar is through an art supplement/portfolio. But you should not use that for something like this and if you aren't applying for an art major.

I was thinking of adding the journal entries to the document that I have to attach to the Common App. Do you still think that it would be inappropriate to do so?

Yes I would recommend not doing that. The whole purpose of an essay is to convey through words. They really do not want additional things like that. Some school like uchicago have video portfolios. Only for these types of things would I showcase visuals like photos of journal entries

If you can, I don't think that it will hurt. At the very least, it will help you stand out (if they are relevant and good).
