I currently have a 3.91 UW GPA and a 4.1 W GPA. I am taking 2 AP's, and 3 honors courses this year. Will this make it possible to get a 4.0 UW GPA by senior year? (if not, what else can I do in order to earn a 4.0? At my school, 11th graders can only take 2 AP's and 3 honors, but 12th graders can take 4 AP's which I also plan to take.) Any advice is appreciated!
As soon as you get a non-A for a letter grade it's technically not possible to ever get to a 4.0 mathematically speaking. The classes you are taking will help improve your weighted GPA but your unweighted GPA won't ever get to a 4.0 at this point.
Having said that, a 3.91 UW GPA is still a great GPA and nothing to be concerned about. Also keep this in mind: GPAs follow the same rounding rules as regular numbers, so, for example, anything at a 3.65 or above would be considered a 3.7 by colleges. In your case if you can get your GPA to a 3.95 colleges would likely round that up to a 4.0 even if it isn't technically possible to achieve that 4.0 by grades alone.
