Hi! I became a college admissions consultant to help students like you navigate the current challenges and changes in college admissions. I know how busy you are and how stressful this process can be.
I graduated as a double major in psychology and Spanish from Union College and earned my M.Ed. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My early career in education as a school psychologist provided me the opportunity to coordinate and counsel high school students in their college and transition plans. I have experience working with students with ADHD and anxiety and understand the impact that it has not only on the student but the entire family. I have been a substitute teacher, volunteered in the schools, managed the tennis teams, and taught religious school. My students enjoy working with me and benefit from my knowledge and experience as an Associate Member of IECA. I also have two sons who I have helped through the college-admissions process in the past few years. I can't wait to help you next!

Hello! I am a writer, editor, and violinist, and for the past seven years I've coached students writing college essays.
When I was in college (Dartmouth '16), I became interested in creative writing. During my time there, I won the student awards for best Short Story and Best Creative Work by a Senior. I also founded the campus literary magazine. After graduating, I channelled my passion for writing and editing into the world of admissions, and I began working with rising high school seniors in 2016. Since then, I've worked with all sorts of students including transfers, veterans, students applying for med/graduate school, students taking gap years, as well as more traditional undergraduate applicants.
In my parallel life, I am a violinist, and I play with a number of groups in and around the Chicago area, notably the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. I graduated from CU Boulder with my Masters of Music in 2019 and my Artist Diploma in 2021.
I also write fiction - which has been published in magazines like CRAFT and New World Writing - and won or been nominated for several awards including the Lorian Hemmingway Short Story Prize. The breadth of my writing experience has given me insights into the editorial process, and I know my students benefit from it.

My name is Robert Carlson. I live in Washington, DC, and I graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University. With seven years of experience as a tutor, teaching assistant, learning pod instructor, and writing coach, I’m passionate about helping students in their admissions journey.
As an alumni interviewer for Duke admissions, I’ve learned what top schools are looking for. I used those tips when I applied to grad school. After acceptances from Harvard, Columbia, Georgetown, and other schools, I decided to attend Johns Hopkins University—where I received a merit-based scholarship covering 80% of tuition. I look forward to sharing the same tips with you.
Prior to starting grad school, I was the lead editor for Global Americans, a magazine focused on foreign policy. I’ve also written my own work in outlets such as The Diplomat and World Politics Review. I draw on this experience as a college coach, helping students turn their ideas into memorable and effective essays.

Kevin Dupont
Kevin Dupont
Hello, Hola, Ola, Bonjour, Marhaban! My name is Kevin and I am a counsellor based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. My specialties in college counseling include essay writing, applying to the Ivy Leagues, college list and major application strategy, student-athlete recruitment, and applying to international universities beyond the U.S. - but I can do it all! My work in higher education began when I was reviewing applications at Tufts University during Graduate school. After two years in this role, I began guiding students toward understanding their own pathways to admission, including acceptances to esteemed universities such as: MIT, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Cornell, Georgetown, the University of Chicago, Brown University, Carnegie Mellon University, McGill University, Emory University, Tufts University, and countless others. I can also share my insights with you about the admissions officers' side of things from when I worked in the admissions offices at Cornell, the University of California - Berkeley, University of Virginia, University of Colorado-Boulder, Bentley, the University of California - Santa Cruz, and Texas A&M - Corpus Christi! The feedback that I can provide from this experience will be crucial for a student to have in the application process as they will be able to see exactly how an admissions officer will review their application and learn what it takes to secure that covered admission letter. For my own academic background, I completed my Master of Arts degree in Law & Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University and my Bachelor of Arts degrees in International & Global Studies and Anthropology from Brandeis University. I also have an Education Specialist certificate with the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA).

*For essay review, please instead book "Live 1-on-1 College Essay Review/Discussion" Themed Session*
I strongly recommend essays and writing prompts to be read through and reviewed together, live with the student, in normal sessions (this allows a back-and-forth to really get at what it is the student's intentions are in their writing). I don't believe that simply writing feedback is the best way to arrive at the best possible essay, which is why working together to develop a topic and talk through the writing is preferred. To work together on an essay (whether you're just starting out, polishing a finished essay, or anything in between), please book normal consulting sessions and we can work together to help make it as great as possible.
If for some reason, that is not possible, this essay/prompt review option can be booked. I will review your essay or writing prompt, writing notes.

The college applications process is all about responding to one question: who are you? I am passionate about helping students craft a creative answer. I have been helping students gain admission to the T25 schools of their dreams since 2018. Soon after graduating from Georgetown University with a B.A. in History and minors in French and Russian (I also speak Portuguese), I made college advising my career.
I currently mentor students through one-on-one consulting sessions. I specialize in helping international applicants and college essay writing. I also have expertise in MBA applications, and helped an entrepreneur who did not finish undergrad gain admission to the Cambridge Judge MBA program. When I am not advising or hosting a CollegeVine livestream, you can find me taking a road trip or reading a novel in French.

I am deeply invested in and committed to supporting the unique academic and emotional journeys of each student. I am truly at my best when helping others and have been fascinated by human relationships and interpersonal communication from a young age.
As a licensed K12 school counselor, I have dedicated the past 17 years to working with students both at the higher ed and secondary level including college counseling and advising, career development, individual and small group counseling, peer conflict and mediation as well as expressive arts therapy.Through my work in schools, I have seen first-hand the transformative nature of establishing positive relationships with youth. I deliver a deft blend of counseling and advocacy skills which have proven successful in helping others navigate the many social and emotional challenges of middle school, high school and beyond.
My focus is helping students and their families explore, develop – and ultimately achieve – their personal goals. Frankly, applying to college is much more than checklists, essay writing, and mastering deadlines. I understand the relational nuances and big picture impact that the college process has on students and their families. I can provide more than solely admissions experience when helping with the college process. One-on-one coaching allows me to employ both my admission and counseling skills to empower and advise students on their journey to post secondary life.
I hold a BA in Psychology from Muhlenberg College, an MEd in Higher Ed. Administration from Northeastern University and a MA in Counseling from Montclair State University. There is no one size fits all approach. I find I do my best work when meeting the student where they are and developing a personalized plan together. Questions? Let's Talk! I look forward to our partnership.

Welcome to planning for the rest of your amazing life! I want to help you to discover your strengths, interests, and talents, and support you as you plan for your future. I have been counseling students and helping them reach for their dreams for more than 15 years, and I have guided hundreds of students toward achieving their goals.
I believe in every student’s ability to learn and grow from wherever they are starting from. Preparing for college applications should start early, though it is NEVER too late to plan the next steps in your journey.
Applying to college can be fun. I love helping students tell their stories, and the writing process has the potential to be one of the most powerful parts of your application. If you are in grade 12, you have a lot of control over how you present your experiences on your application and through your essays. I can help your personality come alive on your application! Being authentically YOU is the key.
I have lived, traveled, and worked all over the world, and these experiences help to shape the way I work with students. I believe that an open mind, a sense of humor, and a spirit of adventure will get you far in life. I also believe that your personal well-being is key to success in learning and gaining acceptance to colleges that hold incredible opportunities for you.
My experience as a college counselor in several incredible high schools is complemented by my background in supporting student mental health and well-being. This allows me to create plans that will help you to manage even the most stressful moments of this process. Get organized, break a large process down into small tasks, and start moving forward, my friends :)
I started my career as a counselor at Hunter College High School in New York City where students aim high (like, really high) and get in! HCHS also boasts a solid percentage of first generation college students gaining acceptance to highly selective colleges. I was a core part of the team founding the college counseling program at Leman Manhattan Preparatory School. Additionally I have worked with incredibly ambitious international students at Shanghai American School and Yokohama International School, and so am very well-versed in the experiences of students with a variety of backgrounds applying to the US.
If you would like to better understand your strengths and how to leverage them, plan your high school years to maximize your opportunities, and create a college application that is going to help you to highlight your best qualities, then let's connect.
***Please send me a message if you do not see your preferred available time. I will always do my best to make times available for clients. Thank you!

Jenn Spalik
Jenn Spalik
Jenn began her educational journey as an honor student and Business Major at Valdosta State University in South Georgia, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. After graduation, Jenn began a career as an Event Planner in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Marketing Analyst for IBM in Burlington, Vermont. Although her positions in marketing solidified networking skills and developed a creative business perspective, it lacked the passion later discovered while teaching others in a boardroom, classroom setting, and studio environment. Throughout her college and professional career, Jenn studied, practiced, and taught yoga. Yoga was not only a passion, but a means of stress management, continued education, and balance within her life. In 2002 Jenn moved to Binghamton, New York, where her journey with Education began. Jenn taught yoga and stress management classes within an alternative school setting to help support GED students. With increased test-score data and successful stress-management testimonials, Jenn’s reputation for balancing educational strategies with behavioral techniques spread within the educational community. Jenn began teaching yoga within the local colleges and public schools, opening her pursuit of a Master in Education degree from Elmira College in Upstate New York. Jenn has worked within the public and private school settings as a Special Education teacher, specializing in supporting students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. While raising her four children, Jenn worked as a Behavioral Consultant to support local families, in partnership with the school districts, to build positive behavioral strategies and create teaching strategies with learning environments that support all individual students. Her unique experience, combined with her background in yoga, has deepened her knowledge and expertise in stress management strategies, sensory integration practices, and intentional goal-setting to provide individualized support for her students. Jenn’s belief that mindfulness and intentional goal setting are the foundation of any successful professional practice and program preparation. As a college transition consultant, Jenn is focused on bringing her unique college and career experience to share the benefits of intentional and mindful practice to guide individual success. To quote Dr. Seuss, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” Mindfulness within a moment of transition, such as navigating the college admissions process, can increase the value. As a college transition consultant, she will help you to highlight your unique gifts or passions, and promote optimal success.

I am a Vanderbilt Ph.D. student and Russell Hamilton Scholar at the Peabody College of Education and Human Development. As an Applications Consultant, I have collaborated with students to gain Ivy League acceptances, full-tuition scholarships, and admission into top-choice schools. I have limited new openings for December and January, so get a new session with me ASAP! I'm excited to work with you.
As a teacher for three years, I have worked with over 400 elementary, middle, and high school students, giving me the skills to break down difficult topics into organized steps and work with students with a variety of learning differences and skills. As a graduate student and Master of Education graduate, I not only have strong writing chops, but also the ability to teach these skills to the students I work with. One Harvard professor said that the opening to my Ph.D. personal statement was one of the best introductions they had ever read.
In high school, my Indian mother inspired me to pursue academics and music. I was valedictorian, a National Merit Scholar, and won third place in my category in the Texas State Science Fair. I also founded a math club at my elementary school. For three years, I did research at my local university. In the summers, I was accepted into highly selective research opportunities. I was also an avid violinist. My passions for research, music, and math are all part of my journey today.
After being awarded three full-tuition scholarships, I attended Vanderbilt on a full-tuition merit-based scholarship as a Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholar. There, I majored in mathematics and received Honors in the College of Arts & Sciences and graduated as a Top 20 Outstanding Senior. As a former premed student (I plan to pursue my M.D. after the completion of my Ph.D.), math major, violin performance minor, and social science researcher, I have a strong interdisciplinary foundation. This background enables me to effectively work with students to blend complex ideas with personal experiences to create compelling essays. I am extremely excited to use my experience as an applications consultant, teacher, and student to help you create a competitive application that shows how amazing you truly are. I cannot wait to work with you! Schedule a $50 30-minute consultation (40% discount!!!) via https://tinyurl.com/sd1530, select a package, or send in an essay for review, and you’ll hear back from me soon.
