Juniors

For a biology major, which math class for senior year looks better for admissions: AP Calculus AB or AP Statistics?

I am a current Junior trying to decide which math class is better for me to take next year if I plan on majoring in biology. My options are AP Statistics and AP Calculus AB. How will colleges perceive one math class over the other? FYI, I took Pre-Calculus Honors in sophomore year, and I'm taking IB Math SL A&I right now.

I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

OMG! I'm in such a similar position; I'm taking IB math Sl but a&a, and my choices are AP calc AB, AP stats, or IB math sl2. Overall, I think you should analyze your patterns in IB math: are you better at the statistics or calculus of it? Are you better at writing (stats) or solving for x (calc). For bio specifically, calc is probably a better choice. However, if you're planning on going on going to med school after undergrad, stats might be the better option.

Hi @Lauren748!

AP Calc AB is the better choice.
