Gpa impact on college admission

Hey I was struggling in most of last semester with balancing academics, extracurriculars, and technical issues with canvas that haven't allowed me to turn in any assignments on my home computer so I often went to the library like twice a week to make them up.I ended up with a 3.25 weighted gpa. If I get mostly A's this semester I'll have at least a 4.28, but I'm afraid that first semester is going to weaken my admission chances into my top schools.

Hi! Are you a junior? Most schools only look at final grades for 9-11th and first semester for 12th. You should be fine. Also, when you apply, you can explain why you got lower grades in the additional information section!

Colleges in general are lotteries. Kids with 3.0s have gotten into Harvard and 4.0s have been rejected. Depends on your ECs, essays, and other circumstances as well. HOWEVER, try to get your grades up!
