I used all the electives available to me in my school. I took 3 electives in my 9th grade which was HOPE, Digital information technology and Spanish 2, in my 10th grade, I was taking digital cinema production and drive education class, in my 11th grade, I am taking career prep and career experiences. But the only class I had to do is English 4, Financial literary, Government/economic, Art, learning strategies and intensive reading class, study hall for my 12th grade year.
Your high school should have some graduation requirements (22 total credits, 4 english, 3 science, 6 electives, etc.) that would be a good place to start. Colleges also have their own high school credit requirements that are usually posted on their website, so if there are specific universities you are considering, check there.
Your high school's graduation requirements may be different from university requirements or recommendations. For example, if you only took the minimum required 2 years of a world language, it will be difficult for you to get into any college that expects 3-4.
This depends on what your school requires for graduation. For example, my school requires 2 language, 4 math, 4 language, 4 science, 3 history, 2 gym, and 3 extras for a pathway. Most of our juniors and seniors do dual enrollment to get those credits in one semester and end up only needing to take about 4-5 classes in their senior year.
To keep this community safe and supportive:
My school is an charter school so the requirement is different. The requirement are four years of English, four years of math, four years of reading, eight electives and one online courses.
