I am currently a junior taking precalc and want to take AP Calc AB my senior year. My plan was to take a virtual summer calculus course to prepare me with an outside organization that is not a college. I however think I would be able to understand the concepts since I have a 95%+ in my precalc class. Thoughts?
Go for it, as long as the course is well-structured and doesn’t overly stress you out. With your precalc grades, you’re more than ready to handle AP Calc AB, and summer prep could help make it even smoother. However, the goal shouldn't be to race ahead of your AP class, but to build comfort and confidence with early topics, such as limits, continuity, and derivatives. Good luck!
You can definitely just go straight into it. I went into AP Calc AB self-study halfway through my school's precalc class, and everything was very intuitive. Also, since you have 95%+ in precalc, you should do fine.
