Hi everyone, I'm a rising senior living in U.S (E-2 visa holder), originally from Korea and Indonesia.
Backgrund:
9th Grade (British International School, MYP system): ~2.5 GPA
10th Grade (1st Sem) (Korean Intl. School): ~2.3 GPA
10th Grade (2nd Sem) (Korean Intl. School): ~3.3 GPA
Late 10th Grade (Transferred to U.S. high school): 4.0
11th Grade (U.S. High School): 4.4 weighted (AP Calc AB, AP 2D Art, Honors Chem, Honors US History, etc.)
Cumulative GPA (unweighted): ~3.3 / 4.0
Planned 12th Grade Courses:
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics (Algebra-based)
AP U.S. Government
Dual Enrollment: Communication & Psychology
Does my academic trend make up for the lower GPA at the beginning?
(I'm pretty sure that my U.S. High School has GPA inflation because even AP and honors classes were way easier to get a high GPA than in Korean International School.)
Could I still be competitive?
I’d appreciate any honest advice!
YEAHH you've really done well to make-up for the lower GPA at the beginning. Your current GPA is actually good and you being competitive depends on your test scores, ECs, essays, rec letters AND THE SCHOOLS you're planning to apply to.
