I depends on you, your goals and the number your school offers. How many have you taken? How many do you plan to take before you graduate. But generally, more than 3

If you're aiming for a T10, you want basically every class you take to be AP. I would even recommend finding ways to cram more APs than blocks in your class schedule, such as by taking even more virtually.

For example, my state offers Virtual Virginia, which let me take more APs online. I took 2 online with 1 study block in-school, so that in my 8-block school schedule, I could fit 2 extra AP classes on top of my 7 in-person AP classes for a total of 9 AP classes per year.
