I'm a junior dis year and I haven't taken any ap classes and no extracurriculars. Also, haven't played a sport. Will that affect overall of attending to my dream university? Can anyone please give me AP classes options I am trying to attend many during my senior year because I'm doing full day. Will it also be perfect if I take like college classes in a community college during senior year? Tysm for ur helps!
Whether or not ur lack of APs will affect you depends on the university you want to attend, but most colleges like to see course rigor. If you want easy APs, I suggest AP Human Geo, AP Comp Sci Principles, AP Environmental Science, AP Gov, or AP Psych. If you want to take more useful APs, I'd suggest AP Stats, AP Calc, AP Lang, or one that aligns with what you want to major in. College classes in ur senior year can also help you get familiar with course rigor that will prepare u for college. Best of luck
Ultimately it depends on what exactly your "dream university" is. Different universities and colleges focus and accept different scores/tests/classes/etc. I agree with the other person who's replied in regards to AP classes- I have only taken two technical AP classes my freshman and sophomore year as I am a full IB student, but AP Human Geography was my first exam and I passed with a 4 despite doing... very minimal studying. AP World History wasn't too bad, but history personally isn't my strongsuit (I still passed with a 3, though). I took the AP Literature exam last year during my junior year, and passed with a 5, but that particular exam I've heard is a very good exam to have when applying for colleges especially when you do well. I would recommend focusing on AP classes in subjects that you excel in, that way you have a good chance of passing the exam with a 3 or higher.
Then again, though, like I said previously, it depends on whether or not your dream universities look at or accept AP scores. Some do, some don't. So I would definitely take time to look into where you plan to apply your senior year and what they value in an application.
I can't give advice on college classes as I haven't taken any formally, even though IB classes are almost the same thing sometimes. But I've heard from a lot of people that they do look good on applications, so I would encourage you to do so if possible. Good luck your junior year!!! :)
