I just moved to a different high school and when I was looking for health related extracurriculars, I found only 3 general clubs while my old school had 6 general ones (HOSA, Med club) and more specific health related (ex. Neuroscience club)
You could start a club! Definitely a good way to get to know the people at your school (coming from another high school transfer) and is great on college apps as well :P
Hey! I ran in to this problem last year, and I can safely say that starting a club can show great leadership and responsibility, as well as initiative! I would say in this case, the more specific the better (if you have a passion for neuroscience, start another club like it)! If you are well versed in the subject, you could also teach your new community about your specific health-related passion. This could look like organizing a presentation at your local library about medicine to younger children, or fundraising for a organization like MSF with baked goods (they have something like that at my school). Another option is to not just join school clubs, but reach out to professionals in the area (maybe during a career fair or something) and see if they can give you any opportunities. Hope this helps!
