I recently moved to the US after finishing 9th and 10th grade in India. I had 98.5% in 9th grade as my final grade and 97.5% in 10th grade. However, the course work I did there only counts as regents level work in my current school. Currently I'm enrolled in all IB and AP classes ( 6 IB, and 1 AP) and orchestra (9+ years of experience playing the violin). Would admissions consider that I was not able to take AP/IB courses in 9th and 10th grade and therefore don't have "rigorous" course work for the first 2 years of high school?

I am in a similar situation (completed 2yrs in Nigeria). So, i could not take "advanced classes", even tho we both know that the classes we took in India (you) and Nigeria (me) were very rigorous. Right now...I'm taking AICE and AP classes and I believe that Ad officers would consider the classes we take according to the context we took them, especially if one makes us of the additional info section (the section of common app where students can talk more about ECs, or just some situation that explains things clearer for the officers).

Also, there are high schools in the USA that do not allow 9th and 10th graders to take advanced classes...so...yeah dont stress too much about it (even tho...I was lowkey stressed about it too earlier :D)
