College Funding

I am an international student. I want to start earning some cash to support myself for next fall. Any recommendations on stay-at-home/ online job opportunities or websites I can find work that I can do to earn even a little. I currently have a high school diploma and 18 years.

Hi there @Meggy,

If you have a diploma and are 18 years old, and if those qualifications make you eligible to work where you're from, you should have quite a few options when it comes to getting a job - more than most high schoolers who are hindered by age restrictions.

A great way to gain experience when starting out is tutoring. You can tutor through a center or independently if you know younger students. Most traditional jobs will look good on your resume if you demonstrate leadership, ability to thrive under instruction, and a desire to learn. Keep these factors in mind when you're choosing a place to work, and go for opportunities you enjoy so that they feel less like work and more like a means of personal growth.

We have a bunch of resources on our blog around working as a student: https://blog.collegevine.com/category/extracurricular-activities/high-school-jobs/ - you should definitely check them out.

Hope this helps!
