Florida bright futures questions
Answered

FYI: only pertains to those living in florida and plan to go to a florida university.

Does bright futures pay for tuition for classes taken online? I saw somewhere that it doesn't pay for "special fees for online courses" but I'm not sure if that means the atual tuition or not.

Ex. if in-person tuition was $212 a credit hour and online tuition was $179, would bright futures allow me to take some online classes and have th e$179 covered?

ps. I'm not getting a completely online degree, but I would really like to have some online classes as I plan to work.

Hi! According to UF's website, "The Florida Academic Scholars will receive an award amount equal to 100% of tuition and applicable fees ." Since the in-person tuition is $212, they would reward you with a scholarship that would cover the $212 for every credit hour.

In that case, the 179$ would probably be covered by the scholarship but I'd double check with your school counselor as they probably have more specific information pertaining to your question.

This question, I believe, might be more appropriate if directed to Florida Bright Futures or your school counselor. I have no knowledge of that scholarship/grant because I am not a student in the Florida public school system. Unfortunately, I can't help to answer your questions.
