I am an international student from Central Asia and want to major in international Relations (not political science). I am from a low-income family. I have 4/0/4.0 GPA, IELTS 7.0, SAT 1540 and unfortunately no AP classes (because we were not offered a single one). I have a passion project with over 200 volunteers and partnered with prestigious organisations, president and founder of debate & diplomacy club, school history club coordinator (performed in a city level), World Literacy Foundation and Global Change Ambassador, Your Big Year fellowship participant (got posted on their instagram). Have a tiktok account with 1350+ followers and I post educational content there. I own a free korean school with 90+ students and have been teaching for half a year right now. I am also a UNICEF volunteer and GLOBAL CITIZEN volunteer with 500+ actions taken and 11 badges earned. I also had an English speaking club for primary school students and want to continue it. Additionally, I am a GLOBAL YOUTH AWARDS judge & nominee and was featured in their newletter with 900 people visibility. I was an eco volunteer in Carbon CREW project and Earth Day (which are my partners) but do not want to include it. I studied 1 AP class independently. I have taken AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL human rights course and 3 courses on UNCC learn and earned badges 3 times for that. I am also the owner of ALTYN BELGI - the highest academic award in Kazakhstan. I did research with my high school teacher about the impact of emojis to language of communication. I have won 38,000 dollar scholarship from Whittier college and won regional award in History olympiad. I was a member of commission and taught history in teachers day. I am waiting for QUEENS COMMONWEALTH ESSAY competition results and got selected to Youth Ambassador Fellowship Malaysia but did not attend. I am possible founder of shool newsletter too. I am going to participate in English olympiad this year. I do not want to include such things like Youth for Climate community member, International Diplomats Ambassador, Global Youth statement community (YOUNGGO) and ZOONIVERSE. I participated in seversl MUN conferences too, I will do it more. I had a very long story, we were homeless for about 5 years and got separated from our grandparents(. Please help me choose uni & colleges, I would be so grateful!
WOW!!! These are a lot...so good it's almost unbelievable...almost. As an Int'l student, you have done very well to set yourself apart. However, to maximize your chances of getting into a top US school, you need to apply to a good number of schools, not just one or two. So...basically, apply to all these schools you've listed and more if possible! Aim for 5 - 10 schools, including 1 - 3 safeties (less competitive schools that you would be happy attending). But you are a very competitive applicant, and as a very ambitious intl student myself, I will say that resumés like these give hope for the develping nations of the world.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your warm words and thank you again for supporting me. I have always thought that I was never done enough(
Sorry for you being homeless..
