Ranking and culture of sororities at UCLA

Hi guys! I'm thinking about Greek life at UCLA if I get in. Does anyone have insights into how the sororities are ranked or what the culture within these groups is like? Is anyone currently a member and wishes to share their experience? Any information would be helpful to decide if it's a route I want to go down!

It can definitely be exciting thinking about participating in Greek life at UCLA. Each one plays a unique part in the community through different actions, initiatives, and events. However, it's important to note that UCLA itself, as well as many individuals and organizations on campus, emphasis that the concept of 'ranking' sororities isn't an accurate or fair measurement of their value. Rather, the focus should be on finding the right fit, both based on your interests, values, and comfort level.

As far as culture within these groups, you'll find a wide range. Some sororities may place a large focus on philanthropy and service, others could prioritize social events and networking, while others might place emphasis on academic achievement. In reality, many sororities will be a blend of all these aspects. What truly varies is the balance between these areas and the kind of communal atmosphere a sorority has.

However, keep in mind that joining a sorority is a large commitment - from a time, emotional, and often financial standpoint. You'll have regular meetings, events, philanthropic activities, amongst other duties and events. If you're considering Greek life, you'll need to be prepared to invest substantial time and energy into the organization.

If you're interested in hearing about specific experiences of sorority members or get personal insights, I'd recommend directly reaching out to individuals through social media or via the sorority's contact information listed on their website or social media accounts. Also, take advantage of official Greek Life information sessions or orientation events, which are a great way to learn more about each sorority's specific culture and offerings.

Hope this general insight proves helpful and good luck with your college journey!
