Meal Plans at Stanford

I'm curious about something - if I'm accepted into Stanford, what kind of meal plans do they offer? Could anyone share their experiences with the food there, like the variety, quality, and can you change or adjust the meal plan once selected?

Stanford offers three main meal plans for undergraduate students, each designed to accommodate different dining preferences and schedules:

1. The 14-Meals Per Week plan offers 14 meals per week to use in any dining hall plus $180 Cardinal Dollars, which can be used at dining halls, retail locations, and late-night cafes.

2. The 19-Meals Per Week plan provides 19 meals per week that can be used in any dining hall and $75 Cardinal Dollars.

3. The 10-Meals Per Week plan offers 10 meals per week for usage in the dining halls and also includes $450 Cardinal Dollars.

For the variety and quality of food, many students have found that Stanford provides a wide range of options. They often rotate menus and offer a mix of different cuisines. For those with dietary restrictions or preferences, Stanford also provides vegetarian, vegan, halal, and gluten-free meals. You'll consistently find a salad bar, a place for hot meals, including a vegan corner, and a pizza station in the dining halls.

If midway through the quarter you feel the need to change your meal plan, you can do so. Meal plan changes are typically completed during the first three weeks of each quarter.

Remember, this is a general overview. Specific details can vary year to year, so always verify the most recent information with Stanford's dining services to ensure you're up-to-date.
