UCLA's applied math program?

Hey! I'm planning on pursuing a degree in applied math and UCLA is high on my list of potential schools. Anyone here currently in or previously enrolled in the applied math program, and could give me an idea of what it's like? Strengths, weaknesses, professor involvement, research opportunities, anything helps!

UCLA's applied mathematics program is highly renowned and offers a comprehensive and in-depth education in mathematical theory and application. It's part of a top-tier public research university, and provides a multitude of unique research opportunities for undergraduates.

Strengths include a faculty comprised of leading experts in their fields. The classes tend to be rigorous, ensuring a solid mathematical background, and often have real-world applications which can be beneficial if you're interested in finding practical uses for your knowledge.

Research-wise, you'll find ample opportunities to be involved - from participating in research conducted by faculty or collaborating on a project within UCLA's Applied Mathematics Research Group. It's worth mentioning that making a connection with your professors early on can be beneficial to securing these opportunities.
