Getting Involved at TAMU?

I'm seriously considering Texas A&M for college, but I'm a person who loves extracurriculars and community involvement. Could anybody shed light on ways to get involved, types of student organizations or clubs that are active on campus?

Texas A&M has a very vibrant student life with hundreds of clubs and organizations to choose from. Your opportunities to get involved will be practically endless. They have their fair share of academic clubs - such as the Student Engineers' Council, the Law Society, and Finance Student Association. If you're into community service, there are also student-run organizations like the12th Can, a food pantry run by students, and local chapters of national organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Big Event, the largest, one-day, student-run service project in the nation.

In addition to these clubs, there's also a strong Greek life scene at Texas A&M, where fraternities and sororities are quite active. If sports are your thing, there are numerous intramural teams you could join. If you're into arts, there are dance troupes, music ensembles, and theater groups. And for those with a passion for journalism, the school's newspaper, The Battalion, might be worth considering!

Student government is another way to get involved and make an impact. Student leaders often assist in implementing initiatives and promoting student well-being on campus.

Also, remember that Texas A&M is known for its robust traditions, such as yell practice, Muster, and Silver Taps, to name a few. Participating in these traditions is another way to connect with the campus community. You can also get involved by joining organizations like the traditions council or the yell leaders.Remember- quality over quantity is key. It's important to actively participate and take on leadership roles in a few organizations, rather than being a passive member in many.Best of luck with your choice, I hope this gives you an idea of the range of opportunities to get involved at Texas A&M!
