CLEP Exam Score Range Clarifications

So I just took a CLEP exam and I'm trying to figure out what the score range actually means. Can someone explain the scoring system for these exams and possibly what score is considered passing? I'm worried I might be on the edge and am looking for some insight.

Understanding CLEP scores can indeed be a bit confusing, but I'm here to help! CLEP exams are scored on a scale from 20 to 80. While the American Council on Education (ACE) recommends that colleges grant credit for scores of 50 or above, some colleges might have higher score requirements.

To determine if you’ve passed, I suggest checking the specific policy of the institution you plan to attend, or the policies of the schools you're considering if you haven't decided yet, as cutoffs can vary. If your score is either slightly above or below a college's minimum, don't hesitate to get in touch with their admissions or registrar's office for clarification on whether or not it counts.

Keep up the good work, so even if you didn't quite make the cutoff, don't let one tough exam get you down. There are plenty of ways to demonstrate your academic strength. Good luck with your college journey!
