Ideal Colleges for Servicemembers

Hey, I'm a high school junior planning to enlist. I'm still set on getting a college education though. Can anybody name the top colleges that cater well to servicemembers?

There's a range of colleges that support servicemembers in many ways, including flexible schedules and substantial financial aid. Here are a few:

1. Columbia University: It's home to one of the oldest colleges explicitly designed for nontraditional students, the School of General Studies (GS), which has an excellent program for servicemembers.

2. George Washington University: GWU is military-friendly and participates fully in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which can significantly reduce your tuition costs. This, in combination with the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill could let you attend for free. Also, they offer several veteran services, including a dedicated counselor for military and veteran students.

3. University of Southern California: USC offers the Military and Veterans Programs (MVP), which is a multi-pronged approach to serving servicemembers. They provide you with access to a vast network of veterans, unique course offerings, and both financial and academic counseling.

4. Georgetown University: Georgetown is known for its service to veterans, offering numerous veterans services and programs. The school is a participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program and provides a range of veteran support services through their Veterans Office.

Remember to check out if these schools participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program because it's instrumental in covering additional costs that the G.I. Bill might not cover.
