Military-friendly colleges in Texas?

I've always wished to serve in the military and get a college education. Currently, I’m looking into options in Texas. Do y'all know of any military-friendly colleges here in the Lone Star State?

There are quite a few military-friendly colleges in Texas that could be a good fit for you! Here's a short list to get you started:

1. Texas A&M University: Texas A&M is renowned for its Corps of Cadets program, which is one of the largest uniformed student bodies outside of the service academies. You can participate in this program and also enroll in ROTC if you'd like. Additionally, A&M has a dedicated Veteran Services office to help military-affiliated students.

2. The University of Texas at Austin: UT Austin offers an Army ROTC program as well as various resources and supports for veterans through its Veteran Education Benefits office.

3. University of North Texas: UNT was recognized as a Military Friendly School and offers an Army ROTC program. Their Student Veteran Services office provides resources and support to veteran and military students.

4. Sam Houston State University: Located just an hour north of Houston, SHSU is named after a legendary Texas war hero and has a strong ROTC program.

5. St. Mary's University: A private institution in San Antonio, St. Mary's University offers an Army ROTC program and has been recognized as a military-friendly school.

Remember, being military-friendly can extend beyond having ROTC programs. Look for schools with services, resources, and supports for military and veteran students. Also, keep in mind any benefits you might be eligible for, like the Post-9/11 GI Bill or the Yellow Ribbon Program, and check whether the schools you're interested in participate in these.
