Looking for Schools with Good Support Systems for ADHD - Any Suggestions?

So, I've been diagnosed with ADHD my whole life and I've always had a bit of a struggle with it. It's not impossibly bad, but it's definitely something that I need to consider when applying to colleges. Are there any colleges that are known for being particularly good for students with ADHD? Like maybe they've got top-notch disability services or accommodations?

One school that frequently appears on lists for ADHD-friendly universities is American University in Washington, D.C. They have an Academic Support and Access Center which offers workshops, individual coaching, and support for time management and organization skills—issues often faced by ADHD students. They also have an established Learning Services Program for those with learning disabilities.

Northeastern University in Boston also has a strong Disability Resource Center (DRC) which aims to level the playing field for students with ADHD and similar conditions. In addition to normal accommodations, Northeastern has a fee-based program called Learning Disabilities Program (LDP) which provides additional services like weekly academic coaching, individualized learning strategies, and a specialized first-year seminars course.

University of Denver is yet another option. They take their Learning Effectiveness Program (LEP) to a new level by assigning each student an academic counselor, learning specialist and a mentor - this personalized, structured attention can be transformative for someone with ADHD.

Remember, different students need different supports, so I strongly recommend you contact the disability resources center at each school you're considering to see what specific support they can offer you.
