Best Colleges for Veterans?

Hey, I'm currently a junior looking into colleges. I have plans of joining the military after high school, but education is an important factor for me. Can anyone recommend military-friendly colleges that have good support systems for veteran students or students who plan to join the military?

Absolutely, there are numerous colleges that are well-known for being military-friendly and have dedicated resources for veterans and students planning to serve. Here are a few that often get highlighted:

1) Georgetown University: They have a dedicated Office of Veterans Services that provides resources and assistance to veterans, military service members, and their families. These services include everything from academic advising to transition assistance. They have an active Student Veterans Association as well.

2) Syracuse University: Syracuse is recognized for its commitment to veterans via its Office of Veteran and Military Affairs. They have various programs, such as the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans and a Veteran Career Services team that offers personalized career services to veteran and military-connected students.

3) Arizona State University (ASU): Known for being one of the most military-friendly schools in the country, ASU has a Pat Tillman Veterans Center offering resources and dedicated support for veterans and military students. They also have a well-established ROTC program.

4) University of Southern California (USC): USC stands out with its commitment to veterans. The school has a dedicated Office of Veteran Affairs, as well as a Military Veterans Initiative that aims to assist veterans in transitioning to civilian life through education and career aid.

5) University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin): They have an extensive Student Veteran Services department that provides support and resources to help students transition from the military to academia.

Remember, many schools will offer benefits and services to military students, such as assistance with the GI Bill and tuition assistance. Always feel free to reach out to the college's office of Military and Veteran Services or Admissions for more specifics on what they offer. Good luck with your search!
