Is Bucknell University in the Ivy League?

This might sound like a naive question, but is Bucknell University part of the Ivy League? I've heard people use the term 'Ivy League' to describe it, but I'm not sure if that's accurate or simply a metaphor for its reputation.

Bucknell University is not part of the Ivy League. The Ivy League is a specific group of eight elite institutions located in the Northeastern United States, namely, Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and Yale University.Though often used casually to denote a certain caliber of academic prestige, the term 'Ivy League' originated from an athletic conference these eight schools formed. Due to their shared history, reputations, and backgrounds, the term has evolved to carry academic and social connotations as well.

Bucknell University, if described as an 'Ivy,' is likely a nod to its academic rigor, student experience, and selective admissions process, similar to those of Ivy League institutions. However, the university itself isn't officially part of the Ivy League.
