Visiting Case Western Reserve Campus - What Should I Look For?

Hey guys. I'm planning on visiting Case Western Reserve University's campus sometime soon. Any suggestions on the key places I must visit or something I should particularly pay attention to during my visit?

First, make sure you take a guided tour if one is available. Tours are led by current students and will give you insight into what life is like at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) on a daily basis. If a tour isn't available due to current health guidelines or other reasons, the university's website likely has a self-guided tour map.

As you go around the campus, pay attention to the Peter B. Lewis Building, where the Weatherhead School of Management is housed. It's notable for its modern design by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry.

The Tinkham Veale University Center is another spot worth a visit. It's the hub of student life, with dining options, meeting spaces, and a variety of services. You'll likely spend a lot of your time here if you attend CWRU, so it's good to get a feel for the center.

Also, don't forget about the Kelvin Smith Library. The services and resources they offer to students are essential, and it's one of the most significant academic buildings. Do spend some time there understanding the study environment and resources available.

In terms of academic buildings, it entirely depends on your intended major or area of interest. For example, if you're into engineering, a peek at the engineering buildings such as the Bingham Building or Glennan Building would be good. If you're interested in humanities, try to check out the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities' located in Clark Hall.

Lastly, head out of the traditional campus boundaries and check out the Uptown district. There, you will find an array of restaurants, shops, and cultural institutions, including the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Remember, you're not only choosing an institution, but you're also picking a home for the next few years. So, take a moment to breathe and observe the environment. How do people interact with each other? Does it seem like somewhere you could be comfortable and thrive?

Enjoy your campus visit!
