Confusion about Vanderbilt: Is it a Military College?

Hey guys, I've been doing some research and there's this college that caught my attention, Vanderbilt. The thing is, I came across some info and got confused. Is Vanderbilt a military college or not? Appreciate any help on this.

Vanderbilt University, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is not a military college. It's a private research university known for its strong programs across many disciplines, ranging from liberal arts to engineering.

That being said, Vanderbilt does host Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs for the Army, Navy, and Air Force. ROTC is a college program offered at over 1,700 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military. However, participation in these programs is not mandatory for all students.

Vanderbilt is known for being a top-ranked institution with a diverse array of undergraduate and graduate programs, a strong commitment to research, and a vibrant campus culture. So, if you're interested in a military career pathway while also taking advantage of all that a traditional college experience has to offer, Vanderbilt could be a great choice. But participation in this military program is purely optional and does not outline the identity of Vanderbilt as a university. Hope this clears it up!
