Hi all, junior here who's super interested in computer science. I’ve coded a little on my own, but I want to start taking formal coding classes to solidify my skills and build a strong CS foundation before college. Does anyone have suggestions for good coding classes I could look into either online or in school that would also look impressive on my college app?
That's terrific you're taking initiative in pursuing your interest in computer science. Many high schools offer AP Computer Science courses, which can provide a structured, in-depth learning experience. If your school doesn't, platforms like Codecademy, Coursera, and edX offer a wide range of coding courses.
Additionally, look for summer programs at local community colleges or nearby universities—for instance, many Ivy League schools offer summer courses for high school students that can be quite impressive on a college application. These programs often provide certificates upon completion which can demonstrate your commitment and achievement in the field. Keep up the great work!
