What's it like living in Mosher Hall at Texas A&M?

I'm going to be a freshman at Texas A&M next year and I've been assigned to Mosher Hall. Any Aggies - past or present - have any experiences or tips about living there? All help is appreciated, thanks!

Congrats on your acceptance into Texas A&M and on your hall assignment! Mosher Hall has a pretty good reputation among students and alumni. Here are some things to know, based on what many students say.

1. Location: First off, Mosher has an excellent location. It is centrally located on campus, which means it's walking distance from academic buildings, the student center, and the library. This is an excellent perk, especially if you have early morning classes.

2. Academic focus: Mosher Hall is part of the Engineering Village, so there's an emphasis on academics. This can be really helpful if you're an engineering student because you'll be surrounded by students who are taking similar courses. This means there's often someone around who can help with homework or test prep.

3. Rooms: The rooms at Mosher are suite-style, meaning you and your roommate will share a bedroom and a bathroom with another room of two students. Some students prefer this over communal bathrooms.

4. Amenities: The dorm comes with some fun amenities as well such as study lounges on each floor, a computer lab, and even a mini convenience store is located on the first floor.

5. Community: Being a part of the Engineering Village, it also fosters a great sense of community. There are study sessions, game nights, and other social events that make it easy to form a tight-knit group of friends.

Every dorm experience will be different, and much of it depends on what you make of it! My biggest tip would be to keep your door open when you're home during the first few weeks. It's an instant invitation for others to say hello and makes it easier to establish friendships with your hallmates. Good luck!
