Life at Texas State for current students?

Hi all, I'm considering Texas State as one of my top choices and was wondering what life is like on campus. Any current students willing to share their experiences both academically and socially, are the faculty supportive? Also, how about the dorm setups? Thanks!

Absolutely, glad to provide some perspective on this! Texas State, located in San Marcos, has a vibrant campus life with academic and non-academic opportunities to suit a range of interests.

Academically, Texas State offers a breadth of majors, and the quality of education is generally high. A lot of students have shared that they appreciate the numerous research opportunities, hands-on projects, and internships available, which aid in practical learning. The smaller class sizes at Texas State allow for individualized attention and better student-teacher relationships. Faculty members are often cited as being supportive and approachable, with many taking an active interest in the students' educational journey.

When it comes to the dormitory setup, freshman dorms are usually set up as traditional double-occupancy rooms, while upperclassmen have access to multiple suite-style on-campus apartments. Check out the Texas State University housing website for a closer look at the residences available.

Socially, Texas State is home to a booming student life scene, replete with over 370 student-run organizations, numerous campus events, and Division I athletics. The campus is relatively large, so there are always activities to participate in. From Greek life to sports clubs, academic societies to cultural organizations, there's something for everyone.

However, it's essential to bear in mind that individual experiences can vary and the college experience is what you make of it. Visit the campus, if possible, connect with current students and ensure it's the right fit for you before making a decision.
