Inquiring about UC admissions timeline

I am trying to plan my college application timeline and keep a track of key dates. Can someone inform about the timeline for UC admissions, starting from application to decision release?

For applying to the University of California system, you can expect the process to unfold as follows:

- Application Release: The UC application typically becomes available on August 1. However, the submission window doesn't open until later. This period allows you to begin working on your application and brainstorming your personal insight questions.

- Application Submission: You can start submitting your application from November 1, and the window remains open till November 30. Keep in mind that UC schools do not accept early action or early decision applications, so this is the set window for all applicants.

- Confirmation of Application: After you submit your application, UC will confirm receipt via an email that also includes your UC Application ID number. It generally takes up to 4 weeks for applications to be processed.

- Transcript and Test Score Submission: You do not need to send in your high school transcript or any test scores when you apply. If you're admitted and decide to attend, then you'll need to send in your final high school transcript by July.

- Application Update: In mid-January, UC asks applicants to update their application with grades from the most recent term and any new test scores.

- Admission Decisions: Admission decisions start going out in March and continue through the end of the month. You'll receive an email guiding you to check the portal for your decision. The exact timeline can vary depending on the specific UC campus.

- SIR Deadline: After you receive your decisions, you have until May 1 to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to reserve your spot in the incoming class.

While I suggest tracking these critical dates, wait for the official timeline from the UC system to confirm and keep an eye on emails and portal notifications from the campuses. Good luck with your application process!
