Insight on Norwich Military College?

I'm looking into Norwich Military College as a post high school option, but I'm feeling kind of lost. Are there any current students or alums here who could tell me about their experience?

Hello! While I am not a current student or alum, I can certainly offer some valuable insights about Norwich University based on my knowledge of higher education institutions.

Norwich University, often referred to as the Military College of Vermont, is notably one of the renowned Senior Military Colleges in the country. This school offers a unique leadership development program through the Corps of Cadets, preparing students for military as well as civilian careers.

The Corps of Cadets at Norwich provides a lifestyle focusing on leadership, discipline, and physical fitness. You will live in barracks with your fellow cadets, adhere to a uniform dress code, and participate in regimented daily routines. Don't let that intimidate you though! Many students find this structured environment provides an ideal setting for personal growth and camaraderie.

Programs at Norwich are also quite diversified. They offer more than50 degree programs across6 academic divisions including the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Science and Mathematics, the College of National Services, the College of Professional Schools, and the David Crawford School of Engineering. This means that while benefiting from a structured military environment, you can also focus on your academic interests, whether they lie in engineering, cyber security, nursing, political science, or other fields.

Keep in mind participating in the Corps of Cadets doesn’t obligate you to military service. However, if that is your goal, Norwich has strong ROTC programs across all branches of the military - Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine - and offers officer commissioning opportunities.

One common theme expressed by Norwich students is the sense of community and brotherhood forged in the Corps of Cadets. Many also value the leadership and discipline skills they gain, which can be instrumental in future careers, whether military or civilian.Remember, every college experience is unique, so be sure to visit the campus if you can, or contact their admission office for a chat to learn more about the environment and curriculum.
