Curious about UC Merced Acceptance Rate

I'm analyzing my college choices and UC Merced is one of them. Though I wanted to gauge my chances, anyone suggested any recent acceptance rates? Would be super helpful!

UC Merced, like most universities, releases official enrollment data annually which includes the acceptance rate. For the last reported period of 2023-2024, the acceptance rate at UC Merced was approximately 70%.This is a relatively high rate when compared to more selective UC schools, such as UC Berkeley or UCLA. Nevertheless, the admissions process is holistic and considers factors beyond just test scores and GPAs. The admissions committee will take into account your personal statement, extracurricular activities, and any potential leadership roles you have held in evaluating your application.

However, don't forget that UC Merced, along with all the other UC schools, has been test-blind since 2024-2025 application cycle. This means that they won't consider your SAT or ACT scores at all, even if you choose to submit them.

So, while this acceptance rate can provide a general idea of the school's selectivity, remember that each applicant's experience varies. A student's specific context, such as their school, community, personal background, and the overall application pool for that cycle, can also influence admission decisions.

Last but not least, ensure that the university aligns with your academic interests, career goals, and personal preferences. Choosing a university is not just about acceptance rates, but also about where you can thrive and be happy for four years.
