NYU Official Emails: Important?

Hello, I have been getting a lot of emails from NYU and I usually skim through them. Are any of these emails generally important? Should I be paying more attention to them?

It's generally a good idea to pay attention to emails from colleges you're interested in, as they can contain valuable information. For NYU specifically, they might include updates about application deadlines, available scholarships, or opportunities to connect - such as virtual events, student chats, and campus tours. They might give you insights on what NYU values, which can be helpful in crafting your application or supplemental essays.

That said, not every email will be relevant to you. The key is to identify the important ones. An email saying that an application deadline is approaching or providing specific instructions for application components should take precedence. Emails inviting you for on-campus virtual events or webinars can give you a better feel of the university community and also some additional content for your "Why NYU?" essay.Just remember, while emails can provide you with good information, they're not going to be the sole determining factor in admissions. Your application as a whole - your GPA, SAT/ACT scores, essays, extracurriculars, and letters of recommendation - will carry much more weight.

So in conclusion, while it can be overwhelming, try to skim through these emails and sort them by priority to make sure you're not missing any critical details. But don't stress if you miss one or two less important ones.
