What's up with the UCSB waitlist acceptance rate?

Hey everyone, I've been waitlisted at UCSB and I'm getting sorta stressed about it. I know it's different every year, but does anyone know roughly what the acceptance rate is for those on the waitlist? Any insights would help ease my mind, thanks!

The acceptance rate for waitlisted students at University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) can vary significantly from year to year, and the unique circumstances of each admission cycle can play a big part in deciding how many students are admitted from the waitlist.

For instance, in some years, a handful of students may be admitted from the waitlist, while in other years, the number could be in the hundreds. It truly depends on factors such as the yield rate, or how many admitted students actually choose to enroll at UCSB, and the overall strength and size of the applicant pool.

That being said, it would be challenging to predict a specific percentage for waitlist acceptances. Your best bet is to have a backup plan in place while you wait for a decision from UCSB. This could mean accepting a spot at another college where you've been admitted, and then, if you get off the UCSB waitlist and decide to go there, withdrawing your acceptance from the other college.

Please keep in mind that being on a waitlist is not a guarantee of admission, and having other options in place will help ensure that you have a plan regardless of the outcome at UCSB. Good luck!
