Details about Tulane's Early Decision process?

So I'm really interested in Tulane and am considering applying ED. Could anyone provide some insight into Tulane's Early Decision process? Are there any specific benefits or drawbacks of applying ED compared to EA or RD? Thanks in advance!

Tulane University follows a two-round Early Decision (ED) process: ED I and ED II. Both these are binding admission plans, meaning if you're admitted, you must withdraw all other college applications and attend Tulane.

ED I deadline is typically around November1st, with decisions being released in mid-December. ED II, on the other hand, typically has a deadline around January4th, with decisions being sent out in mid-February.

One of the main advantages of applying early decision is that the acceptance rate is higher in the ED round compared to EA (Early Action) or RD (Regular Decision). While the acceptance rate can vary year-to-year, it has historically been higher for ED applicants due to the commitment to attend, which is advantageous for the school's yield rate (the percentage of admitted students who enroll).Another advantage of applying ED is that you'll receive an admission decision much earlier (mid-December for ED I and mid-February for ED II), allowing you to wrap up your college process sooner. The main drawback, however, is that the ED process is binding. This means that if you're accepted, you're committed to attending Tulane, with the exception if the financial aid package is insufficient, in which case you'd need to discuss with the university's financial aid office.

Lastly, you should be fully sure about Tulane being your absolute first-choice school before you apply ED, due to the binding nature of the agreement. If you're not100% set on Tulane or if you want to compare financial aid packages from several schools, EA or RD could be a more suitable route.
