Parchment Account Set Up - Any Tips?

Hey y'all, I'm about to make an account on Parchment for sending my transcripts and stuff. Anybody got any tips or things I should look out for?

Creating an account on Parchment is a straightforward process, but here are a few tips to ensure the process goes smoothly.

1. Have your academic information handy: Before setting up your account, ensure you have your high school and/or college information on hand. This includes addresses, course information, grades, etc.

2. Accurate Personal Information: Make sure your personal information (including your email address and home address) is accurate and consistent. You would want to avoid any confusion or delays with sending and receiving documents. Incorrect information could potentially lead to your transcripts being sent to the wrong place.

3. Security Questions: During the sign up process, you'll be asked to set up some security questions. Choose questions and answers that are easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess.

4. Keep a record of your Login Information: Keep track of your username and password. You might need to access Parchment multiple times during your college application process, and beyond for things like scholarship applications and job opportunities.

5. Ordering Transcripts: After you've set up your account, you will be able to order your transcripts to be sent to colleges. Make sure to check each college's policy on receiving transcripts. Some may prefer to receive them electronically, others may want them by mail.

6. Double-Check the Recipient Information: This is key. Before finalizing any transcript order, verify the recipient's information. One small mistake could cause delays in your application process.

7. Digital Credentials: Keep in mind that Parchment isn't just for transcripts. It's a platform for sharing verified digital credentials across multiple arenas. Make sure to use all its features to fullest.

8. Use Parchment Tracking: Once you have submitted a request to send your transcripts, you can use the platform's tracking feature to check the status of your transcript.

Remember, every time you need another official transcript sent, you’ll need to make that request through Parchment, and there may be a fee associated with each instance. Make sure to plan ahead to meet any deadlines!
