Seeking Military Supportive Colleges

Hi there, I plan to join the military after high school. I am trying to find colleges that are supportive of military commitments and might offer flexible schedules or other benefits. Any recommendations for military supportive colleges?

Definitely! A number of colleges have programs and structures in place to support students with military commitments.

Arizona State University offers an "ASU ROTC" program where students with military commitments can benefit from leadership training and scholarship opportunities. It's known for offering flexible class schedules and extensive online classes that can accommodate unpredictable military scheduling.

Norwich University in Vermont specifically caters to military students and is a Senior Military College. It aims to prepare students to be leaders in the military, government, and private sectors. Plus, financial aid packages for military students are quite generous here.

Another solid choice is Columbia University's School of General Studies, which is one of three undergraduate colleges at Columbia. The program was designed specifically for "non-traditional" students, which includes those with military backgrounds. They offer flexible scheduling, and there are a substantial number of veterans among the students and faculty.

Finally, many online colleges, like Southern New Hampshire University and Colorado State University Global, offer flexibility which might be a good fit depending on your deployment schedule and stationing. They offer a variety of online degree programs and have a clear understanding of the needs of military students.

Remember, it's important to look into colleges that offer you the flexibility you need, that have support services available (like specialists knowledgeable about the GI Bill), and that have a community of other military-involved students that you can connect with.
