JROTC Award at Association of Military Colleges and Schools?

Hi everybody, I'm currently involved in JROTC and I've heard that the Association of Military Colleges and Schools offers an award for that. Anyone have details about it and potentially how I could qualify?

The Association of Military Colleges and Schools (AMCS) indeed presents numerous awards throughout the year, two of which specifically focus on JROTC programs: the Outstanding JROTC Unit Award and the Superior JROTC Cadet Award.

The Outstanding JROTC Unit Award is given to units that have demonstrated exceptional performance in their JROTC program during the school year. The specific criteria considered for this award can be related, but not limited to, the success of the unit in various competitions, community service contributions, and the performance of the unit on inspections.

The Superior JROTC Cadet Award, on the other hand, is presented to individual cadets who have exhibited outstanding performance and leadership within their respective JROTC programs. The criteria for this award may incorporate academic performance, JROTC curriculum mastery, leadership roles, and participation in extracurricular activities related to JROTC such as drill competitions or service projects.

To qualify for these awards, students typically need to be deeply involved in their JROTC program and consistently display exemplary leadership, discipline, and engagement. The awards are usually issued by the JROTC instructors or school advisors, and they don't typically require an application from the students. However, the exact process might vary from school to school. Therefore, to get a clearer understanding of your chances and the criteria in your school, you might want to speak directly to your JROTC instructors or your school's leadership.
