Colleges with good acceptance rates for military training?

Hi, guys! I heard that some colleges give credit for military training, especially when you compare it to similar college coursework. Can you suggest any colleges known for acknowledging a lot of the training we get in the military? Thanks so much for the help!

Absolutely, many colleges and universities recognize the value of the skills and experiences that are gained through military service and therefore offer credits for military training.

1. Excelsior College and Thomas Edison State University are notable examples, and are often tops when it comes to granting college credit for military training. Both colleges, being adult-oriented, specifically cater to learners who have work or lifestyle experiences, like the military. They generally accept a substantial amount of transfer credits, including for military training, as detailed in the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide.

2. University of Maryland Global Campus also has a long-standing commitment to military education, accepting military training credits and offering flexible learning options tailored for servicemen and servicewomen.

3. American Military University (AMU), despite the name, it's not just for military personnel. AMU students can earn credit from experience, including military training, Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), and national testing programs like CLEP or DSST.

4. The Community College of the Air Force operates as a higher education institution for members of the Air Force. The education you receive through the Air Force can transfer directly into degree requirements at this accredited community college.

Remember to ask each individual institution about their specific policies as they do vary from school to school. Also, take advantage of the military transcript service provided by the Joint Services Transcript (JST), which can help schools better understand and assign potential credit for your military learning. Good luck in your educational pursuits!
