Scholarships for Military Veteran's Dependents

Quick question, y'all. My mum's a veteran and I was wondering if there are any scholarships specifically for college students who are dependents of military veterans? Really appreciate any info!

Oh absolutely, there are quite a few scholarships available for dependents of military veterans. Here are a few that come to mind:

1. The Fry Scholarship: This scholarship provides full tuition and fees for public schools or up to $24,476.79 per year for private schools for children and spouses of service members who died in the line of duty after September 10, 2001.

2. AMVETS National Scholarship Program: They offer $4,000 scholarships ($1,000 a year over four years) to high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of U.S. veterans.

3. Scholarships for Military Children Program: This is sponsored by the Defense Commissary Agency and awards several $2,000 scholarships each year to eligible students.

4. The American Legion Legacy Scholarship: This scholarship provides up to $20,000 for children of veterans who passed away in military service on or after the 9/11 attacks.

5. The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Educational Assistance Programs: They offer interest-free loans, grants and scholarships to help finance your education.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, and many more scholarships exist for dependents of veterans. The specific scholarship offerings will vary, so make sure you check on the eligibility requirements, application process and deadlines for each one. You also might find it beneficial to consult with your high school counselor or the financial aid office of the colleges you're applying to for additional scholarship opportunities. Good luck with your scholarship search!
