Are there any military dependent-friendly colleges in California?

Yo! My parents are vets and I'm looking at colleges in California. Anybody know if there are specific schools that are extra friendly or accommodating for military dependents? Like, scholarships or resources, specifically aimed at us. Thanks, folks!

Absolutely, there are quite a few colleges in California that provide special considerations for military dependents. Here are a few that come to mind:

1. University of Southern California (USC): USC has the Office of Veteran and Military Global Initiatives which provides resources, support, and scholarships for veterans, military-connected students, and their families. They also have a special military social work program which you might find interesting.

2. San Diego State University (SDSU) has the Joan and Art Barron Veterans Center which offers support services to more than 3,000 military-connected students including veterans, active duty military personnel, and their dependents.

3. University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has Veterans Resource Office that offers a myriad of resources including counseling and psychological services, health services, career services, and academic support. They also offer a number of scholarships specifically for military dependents.

Remember, when looking at those scholarships, research each one carefully to ensure you meet all the eligibility requirements before applying. Furthermore, consider reaching out to each college's Veterans Affairs office or equivalent, as they are often a wealth of information about scholarships, grants, and resources available to dependents of military personnel.

Colleges often appreciate the diverse perspectives and experiences that military dependents bring to their student population, so be sure to discuss your experience in your application and how it has shaped your worldview! It's an integral part of your story and might help you stand out among other applicants.
