Which colleges are best for military credit acceptance?

Hey all, I'm considering joining the military after high school and I'm intrigued about the military credit system. Does anyone know which colleges are best in terms of accepting military credit?

Most colleges and universities are pretty good about accepting military credit, as they follow the ACE (American Council on Education) recommendations when evaluating military coursework. Schools in the United States use the ACE recommendations as a guide for determining the applicability of military training and coursework.

However, state universities are often more transfer-friendly than private ones. For example, institutions like the University of Maryland Global Campus, Excelsior College, and Thomas Edison State University are known for working well with military veterans and their education benefits.

On another note, many military-friendly private institutions work to maximize credit acceptance for military students. Western Governors University (WGU) and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) are exceptions among private schools, as they are noted for their military-friendly policies.

Please note that how these credits will transfer may vary depending on the specific program of study or major you choose. Always confirm with school admissions or an academic adviser about how your military credits will be applied to your degree plan.

And lastly, be sure to check out the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) program. This program consists of colleges that agree to be reasonable when transferring credits, and to consider military learning as part of their credit granting processes.
